“Kate, I don’t think I’m that old fashioned, but is it too much to want a true love in life who believes in being faithful and attentive? You know — those old family values?”

As a counsellor, I’ve heard variations of that question a lot over the years.

And not only from women.

Fact is, there are all kinds of people who want old fashioned romance in their lives. And Marriage. And what are still known as Family Values.

I’ve talked to men and women who have sought their life partner online. It’s happening big time — with successes — and with failures.

There are millions of singles out there seeking partners. But so many of them are game players. Or just looking for casual dating. Or for “activity partners.”

>> How, then, do you find someone true?

Well, there is a real solution to your problem, and I recommend it.

If you’ve ever filled out a questionnaire on an online dating site, what did you put when you came to “Religion?” Did you answer “Christian?”

Not that you’re that heavily into religion though, are you? But you did put “Christian” didn’t you? (Or another religion – it’s not the affiliation I’m talking about. You can replace the word “Christian” with your own affiliation. The solution is the same.) Come to think of it, when you talk of family values, it’s the Christian values you’re talking about, isn’t it? Love. Loyalty. Trust. Romance. Sharing. Being together.

That’s why I recommend Christian Dating.

You thought that sites like ChristianCupid were just for serious Born Again Christians who would want to convert you to their way of life, didn’t you?

In reality, you’ll find the full spectrum of Christians there – from fully commited to singles just like you. When they call themselves Christians they are talking about the core values. Read their profiles. The’re talking about things like loyalty, family love – - walks on the beach. They’re looking for a companion who is caring, honest, “loves children, animals, dancing and meeting new people!” Sound familiar?

Family values are critical in so many of our lives. The phrase has been defined as: To have a sense of Family Values is to have good thoughts, good intentions and good deeds, to love and to care for those whom we are close to and are part of our primary social group, our community, such as children, parents, other family members and friends. And to treat others with the same set of values, the same way we wish to be treated.

I’ll tell you this: on sites like ChristianCupid, you are in safe hands!
